Characteristic round hill overlooking the city, the Dòs Trento is an important peri-urban park full of meanings and particularities not only natural and landscape, but also historical-architectural, symbolic and recreational.

This relief of glacial origin welcomed the first human settlements already in prehistoric and protohistoric times and today, among the clearings and wooded spots, the remains of an early Christian church are visible as well as traces of military use, which can be seen in the Historical Museum of the Alps housed in the park. Between the two wars, the hill was chosen for the construction of the mausoleum in memory of the irredentist Cesare Battisti, which today dominates the city with its white marble columns, which was the subject of debate before being inaugurated in 1935.

The two main access roads ("cut" into the rock by the alpine divisions) cross pleasant pedestrian paths, with terraces, stairs and ramps recovered at the beginning of this century. The natural value of the area is subject to important protection: in fact, the typical thermophilic forest formation of ornithines, hornbeams and oaks is accompanied by very rare botanical species, living evidence of ancient climates, warmer than the current one, and of botanical communities other than those of temperate climates (such as the terebinth, the brown oak, the Judas tree, the Colutea arborescens and the rare Opuntia vulgaris, a relative of prickly pears) or those representative of alpine meadows and steppes, such as wild orchids, the exile liliaceous Fritillaria tenella and the Ephedra distachya.

The visitor can also enjoy a beautiful view of the city of Trento (from here the most important ancient maps were made).
