Tridentum. Area archeologica di Palazzo Lodron
The archaeological site cannot be visited at this time.
In the underground floors of Palazzo Lodron there are the fascinating remains of the Roman city founded by the Romans. A "splendid" settlement directly from antiquity.
Splendidum municipium: this is how Emperor Claudius defined it, admiring in 46 AD the beauty of Tridentum, the ancestor of today's Trent founded in the first century BC by the Romans. An elegant and spectacular city that now lives in the basement of Palazzo Lodron. It was precisely the restoration work, a few years ago, that brought to light the remains of the ancient city that today you can admire in all its charm. Houses, a part of a wall, even a winemaker's workshop: an amazing underground Trento, destined to conquer you during an unforgettable visit.
STRENGTH
The originality of the finds and their enormous historical value.
